Sustainability
Bamboo grows faster than any other plant in the world, and also has the desirable characteristics of hardwoods. MOSO has proven its green credentials through studies such as carbon footprints, as well as through certificates (e.g. BREEAM, LEED, FSC) measured and awarded by independent parties.
Quality
The key to MOSO®’s success has always been its control over the production process. MOSO inspectors are involved in the production process from A to Z. Production to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications ensures compliance with the strictest health, safety and environmental regulations.
Innovation
When MOSO started in 1997, it was clear that in many applications there was no real bamboo product yet. Since then, MOSO has always focused on innovation. Perhaps the most famous example is the project at Madrid Airport, where MOSO® was the first to develop a flexible, fire-resistant bamboo sheet. This is the largest bamboo project in the world to date, involving 200 000 m² of curved roof panels.
Designed in Europe, made in China
For more than 20 years, MOSO® has worked with a number of manufacturers to produce high quality bamboo products that meet the MOSO® brand standards. This has included co-production, co-investment, product development and staff training. The Chinese MOSO® team, currently consisting of 20 employees, checks all products during and after production. In addition, MOSO certifies all products to the highest building, environmental and sustainability standards to ensure that they are healthy and meet the highest market requirements.

An endless resource
Bamboo is an endless resource. It grows faster than any other plant, at best up to one metre a day! Every year, stems that are 4-5 years old are harvested, giving room for younger bamboo to grow to maturity. During growth, MOSO® bamboo absorbs more carbon dioxide than is released during production.

The most striking feature of MOSO® bamboo products is certainly their natural beauty. The naturally beautiful “wood grain” gives bamboo a distinct design. Combined with a wide range of styles, configurations and colours, MOSO® bamboo products are always available to suit your preferences.
Hard and durable
Bamboo is very hard and durable after treatment. This means that MOSO® bamboo flooring and decking, for example, can be used in hard and heavy duty applications where, for example, heavy traffic conditions can be expected. Several products are also more than suitable for outdoor use.
Very good dimensional stability
Due to its composition of individual strips, bamboo shrinks and swells less than most solid wood species, providing a very stable solution. This means that unique and fascinating solutions can be developed from it.
Healthy and low-emission
MOSO® bamboo products are also a healthy choice because they are anti-static and anti-allergenic. In addition, they have very low emissions of harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
Fire safe
Due to its high density, many MOSO®bamboo products meet strict fire safety requirements and MOSO® has tested almost its entire bamboo product range.
Up to 30 years guarantee
Developing the best bamboo product is only possible with constant attention to every detail during production. Thanks to the daily efforts of the MOSO team, a MOSO® bamboo product is very different from a regular Chinese bamboo product. And in the unlikely event that something was overlooked, customers can count on full support and a warranty of up to 30 years.

MOSO can provide FSC® certification for bamboo products.
Indoor air, E1 or better
All MOSO® products meet the E1 standard, and several MOSO® products also meet higher ratings (“E0”, A, A+).
LEED & BREEAM
Using MOSO® bamboo products can contribute to various LEED and BREEAM credits.
Carbon footprint
Thanks to carbon sequestration, the carbon footprint of bamboo is very climate-friendly throughout the life cycle of the product.

FSC certification
FSC® is globally recognised as the most stringent sustainable forest management certification scheme in the timber industry. It was created to prevent the continued loss of forests. FSC® certification is also available for bamboo. Although deforestation is not a problem for bamboo, due to its characteristics, growth habit and speed (“giant grass” with an annual thinning programme), many construction projects have nevertheless required bamboo to be FSC® certified. Since 2008, bamboo has also been included in the FSC® scheme, and MOSO was one of the first bamboo companies to be certified, and most products can be supplied with FSC® certification.
Indoor air, E1 or better
For healthy indoor air, it is important that products used indoors have very low emissions and meet the official European E1 standard (EN 717-1). All MOSO® products meet this standard, and in addition, many MOSO® products meet even the strictest (unofficial) emission class E0. For example, all MOSO®-bamboo floors have an A and A+ rating (best available rating, French certification) for volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
LEED & BREEAM
Leading green building certification programmes worldwide. Using MOSO® bamboo products can contribute to various LEED and BREEAM credits.
Carbon footprint
The report of the official LCA and carbon footprint study carried out by Delft University of Technology concludes that all MOSO® products assessed (all solid bamboo flooring, decking, sheet and veneer) are CO2 negative throughout their life cycle.
Fire safety
(walls/roofs mainly D-s1,d0 depending on the product)
MOSO® High Density® materials have even achieved satisfactory results in fire safety tests for B-s1-d0 grades of 18 mm and above. This result was achieved without impregnation, which is impossible with any other wood.
